Hezekiah Walker Set To Break Ground On East Brooklyn Affordable Housing Development

Hezekiah Walker Set To Break Ground On East Brooklyn Affordable Housing Development

Hezekiah Walker has long been a beacon of light and hope in the bustling streets of East New York, Brooklyn. Born and raised in Fort Greene Housing Projects, Brooklyn is where Hezekiah Walker developed a love for Gospel music and a heart for people.

The renowned Gospel artist, multi-Grammy award winner, and Pastor of the Love Fellowship Tabernacle (LFT) has always believed in the transformative power of music and faith, and he has always had a desire to make a difference in his community – a difference that extended beyond the four walls of the church.

In 2011, Walker and LFT were preparing to build a 2,000-seat church on a property that he had purchased in 1998. While he was in prayer, however, he heard God telling him to not build a church but to build something that would benefit people in the community. Not long after, a developer called Walker about building affordable housing in the area and the project began to gain momentum. In 2013 Walker founded the Hezekiah Walker Community Development Corporation, a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting the residents of East New York Brooklyn. A large part of the vision was to provide affordable housing for those in need.

11 years later, that vision is coming to fruition with the official groundbreaking for HezHouse Apartments, an affordable and supportive housing development by Hezekiah Walker & Love Fellowship Tabernacle, the Hezekiah Walker Community Development Corporation, Brooklyn Community Housing & Services, TT Development Group and Alembic Community Development. The groundbreaking will take place on Easter Sunday, which is the 30th church anniversary of Love Fellowship Tabernacle.

“I really want to leave a legacy above and beyond music,” says Walker. “I want to be able to say to people and show people that Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Choir was not just out here singing for money and popularity, we were singing to invest in our community.”

HezHouse Apartments will bring 236 affordable housing units to the heart of East New York Brooklyn. Among the 236 units, there will be 63 studios, 72 one-bedroom units, 73 two-bedroom units, and 28 three-bedroom units, offering a variety of living spaces to accommodate families of all sizes. What sets this development apart is the inclusion of 142 supportive units specifically designed for individuals and families dealing with serious mental disorders or substance use disorders.  Of the 142 supportive units, 93 are designated as affordable units, ensuring that those in need have access to safe and stable housing.

Before long, the once vacant lot that was going to be the home of the Love Fellowship Tabernacle will be transformed into safe, comfortable homes for families who have struggled to find stable housing in New York City.

“I’m humbled and excited to finally break ground on HezHouse Apartments. We have worked hard and waited faithfully for this day to come. What better way to be the hands and feet of Jesus than to help ensure our neighbors have an affordable, safe and comfortable environment that they can call home,” says Walker.

TREM Devotional – There Is No Condemnation

Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 28 March 2024 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – There Is No Condemnation

TOPIC: There Is No Condemnation (TREM Devotional 28 March 2024)

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

When we fully understand the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, no one will cajole, beg, appeal, or plead with you to share the good news. Jesus’ death and resurrection brought us to the place of right standing with God. Our past, present, and future sins are fully paid for. We can now approach the throne of God as if we had never sinned before. Every time the Father looks at us, He sees us in Christ. He sees us spotless. He sees us as deserving of His love, grace, and mercy. He sees us in right standing with Him. That is the benefit of the redemption program.

Child of God, walk in the full realisation of this truth. Never let the devil hold you bound by something you did wrong yesterday. Does that empower you to live in sin? Absolutely not. As I have said repeatedly, Grace is not a license to sin but an empowerment to live above sin. Grace enables you to live above sin and sin consciousness.

Many believers are reluctant to share their faith because they do not know what they carry. In this season, as we celebrate the resurrection, can you take time to meditate on the events of Good Friday to Resurrection Sunday? Can you read the account in different translations that you can understand? Do not just stick to the King James Version – thank God for technology; even on your phone, you can have many translations. Read the account repeatedly, meditate on it, and take it all in. Come to the full realisation of what this season stands for, and you will be ready to share your faith because of the truth revealed to you. Then go out there and share your faith. Share your personal story. Tell of the goodness of God in your life. If you are a new believer, then simply invite someone to church. Tell them to come and see, like the woman of Samaria at the well in John chapter 4. Consciously tell those around you about this good news that is too good to be true. Let your light shine in your world.

DCLM Daily Manna – Just Praise The Lord

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 28 March 2024 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Just Praise The Lord

TOPIC: Just Praise The Lord (DCLM Daily Manna 28 March 2024)

KEY VERSE: “Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee” (Psalm 118:28).

TEXT: Psalm 118:27-29 (KJV)

27 God is the Lord, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

29 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

MESSAGE:

A medical doctor turned missionary shared his experience as a medical doctor. According to him, he had a number of patients who complained about their physical ills. They were never positive about themselves. It was from one complaint to another. But on the other hand, he also came across patients who gave thanks to God for every aspect of their lives, including the medications. And he discovered that such patients got healed faster than their complaining counterparts. Infact, it was in the course of the investigation that he became saved.

This is what the psalmist emphasized in our text today. God has shown us the light of salvation through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. He is our God and we must give praise due to Him. As we sing praises to God either in joint congregational worship or during personal worships and devotions, we must do it with good understanding of who He is: His greatness and majesty, whose Kingdom is everlasting and spans through the length and breadth of the entire universe.

Many people know how to ask and receive but do not know how to show appreciation. Yet, there are many things for which you need to be grateful to God. First, God brought you into existence; gave up His only begotten Son so that your soul will not be lost. He keeps protecting you day and night. He provides you with food, clothing and shelter. He fights your battles and heals you when you are sick. Today and always, you have a reason to praise God. Develop the habit of praising Him; and as you do this always, His glory and power will be revealed in your circumstances.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Praise God for who He is.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – God’s Plans Supersede Man’s Plans

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 28 March 2024 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: God’s Plans Supersede Man’s Plans

TOPIC: God’s Plans Supersede Man’s Plans (Seeds Of Destiny 28 March 2024)

SCRIPTURE: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Divine purpose happens for those who can trust the plan of God for their lives; those who will trust God not to mismanage their lives.

MESSAGE:

Our anchor Scripture reveals that God has a purpose for everyone. God created you for a specific assignment on earth.

Beloved, it does not matter how colourful your plans are, they can never be as wonderful as the plans of God for your life.

For example, while growing up with classmates and friends at various levels, I knew those who felt that we were wasting our lives by following God all the way. But see where the ‘waste’ has brought us today.

When my wife was to marry me, there were those who looked down on her as if she had lost her mind. Her friends, colleagues and other people around her were marrying people who were ‘bigger’ in size and in many ways than us. But I just graduated as a medical doctor living in doctors’ quarters. I did not even have a set of furniture for myself at that time.

I wasn’t too sure of having many material possessions at that time, but I knew I had fire, passion, vision, purpose, and mantle. And she knew how God convinced her about me and so, she did not follow people’s counsel. You can see where God has brought us today.

You see, purpose happens for those who can trust the plan of God for their lives, those who trust God not to mismanage their lives. That is what takes you to the place of prayer. That is what takes you to the place of trusting God to receive from Him.

REMEMBER THIS: Purpose happens for those who can trust the plan of God for their lives, those who trust God not to mismanage their lives.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Put your hope completely in God to run your life.
  2. Refuse to suspect God and His plans for your life. Always believe that God has the best plan for you.

PRAYER: Lord, I put my life and destiny in Your Hands. I refuse to suspect You. I have decided to follow Your Plans for my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: The purpose of light is to give direction. The purpose of light is to bring illumination. The purpose of light is to bring guidance. Culled from the book, “WHO ARE YOU?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: 1 Chronicles 15-17.

AMAZING FACT: In addition to eating massive amounts of food, adult Elephants drink 30-50 gallons of water every day.

TREM Devotional – Jesus Came For Sinners

Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 27 March 2024 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Jesus Came For Sinners

TOPIC: Jesus Came For Sinners (TREM Devotional 27 March 2024)

“And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying that He was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner” Luke 19:7 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Jesus was passing through Jericho and here comes this Publican, Zacchaeus, a tax collector. He saw the multitude and sought to see Jesus. Possibly, he didn’t come to be saved. Possibly he came, saw the crowd with Him and was wondering: “If I collect tax from this man, it will be heavy”. So, he ran to the Sycamore tree and climbed it, to see who Jesus was, because he was not too tall. Then Jesus came to that tree and stopped.

Put on your imagination; Jesus stopped. That shows that He was concerned about the big and the small, the low and the high. He told Zacchaeus to come down, that He was going to have lunch in his house. In the eyes of men, Zacchaeus’ house was not the ideal place to eat lunch.

The reason multitudes are not coming to church is because we think the church is for exclusive people, holy people, perfect people, people who don’t commit sin, and people who don’t make mistakes. But the church is a laundry. Any laundry that does not have dirty clothes come in will eventually close down. Our business is human business. So, we should expect dirty and stained materials. Also, those who have been ruffled and need ironing will come. When they come, our assignment is to restore them and make them know that we do not condemn them.

Many church folks are like the Pharisees. They tell you things like; I have been in this church all my life and I have given money. All my children were born here, and I am committed. I am not like other people. And that is the problem because your credential can never earn you a place before God. There is nothing you will do that will earn you anything before God. All of us are what we are by the grace of God. It is because of what He did for us. That is why we are doing what we are doing. The love of God for us constrains us. It was mercy that found you.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Bribery – Don’t Give; Don’t Take

Pastor Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 27 March 2024 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Bribery – Don’t Give; Don’t Take

TOPIC: Bribery – Don’t Give; Don’t Take (Seeds Of Destiny 27 March 2024)

SCRIPTURE: He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. Isaiah 33:15,16.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: We live in a generation where bribery has eaten deep into the fabrics of society.

2023 MESSAGE:

Our anchor Scripture reveals that the bread of the man who refuses to give or take a bribe is guaranteed and his water is sure.

However, it is unfortunate to know that we live in a generation where bribery has eaten deep into the fabrics of society. Someone expects to be given money or a gift before doing what is ordinarily their job. As if they forget to realise that every form of inducement is evil before God.

Some people, especially public officials, give out contracts to contractors with an agreement to get certain amount of money back from the contractors after those contracts are executed. That is a terrible practice. Some even make demands for money before the contract is awarded.

Some government officials who work with regulatory authorities usually take advantage of the organizations they supervise. When they go for regular supervisory assignments, they expect the organizations being supervised to give them certain amount of money before they can write good reports about them.

For instance, when a school which has already met all requirements for accreditation is being supervised, the supervisory team still expects the management of the school to bribe them before accrediting the school. That culture must die!
That is why many countries are in a mess today. The people who expect to receive such money are in the same class with those who encourage them by it giving to them. This is because if one person says, “NO”, and another person says, “NO”, and a third person says, “NO”, to the request for bribe, the system would begin to change for good. What to do if such evil demands are made on you is to ask the people making them to bring official receipts that can be acknowledged and presented to the authorities later to show that such money was collected.

Beloved, make up your mind not to indulge in any form of bribery and corruption. Don’t give, and don’t take.

REMEMBER THIS: We live in a generation where bribery has eaten deep into the fabrics of society.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind not to indulge in any form of bribery and corruption.
  2. Ask God for the grace not to be carried away or submerged in the systemic bribery of society.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You deliver me from any form of bribery and corruption in society. I receive the grace not to follow or be carried away by the corruption of society, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE TRAGEDY OF EVIL MONEY.

QUOTE: What limits the vulture? It is clear: the vulture enjoys corruption while the eagle has no time for decadence. It seems to me that the vulture enjoys eating rotten flesh – the rottener the better; the ‘smeller’ the better. Culled from the book, “WHO ARE YOU?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: 1 Chronicles 12-14.

AMAZING FACT: In addition to smelling, trumpeting, drinking and grabbing things, Elephants can use their trunks to breathe (like a snorkel) in deep water. In this way, they can swim fairly long distances.

DCLM Daily Manna – Time Of Judgment

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 27 March 2024 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Time Of Judgment

TOPIC: Time Of Judgment (DCLM Daily Manna 27 March 2024)

KEY VERSE: “Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest” (Revelation 15:4).

TEXT: Revelation 15:1-8 (KJV)

1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:

6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

MESSAGE:

It was the height of summer in the United Kingdom and then the sky darkened. On the evening of July 21, 2021, hailstones the size of golf balls fell from the sky, smashing windows and battering cars. While the hailstorm was unusual in its severity, it was mild compared to a hailstorm that struck Calgary in Canada in June 2020. Hailstones the size of tennis balls caused damage to at least 70,000 homes and vehicles, destroyed crops and left the area facing a $940 million repair bill.

It is thus instructive to pitch those fearful incidents against the more terrible ones awaiting the sinful world at the end of this age as captured in some sections of the book of Revelation. Our passage reveals some fearful and eschatological happenings after the rapture of the saints. Apostle John was shown two distinct groups of people: one was of victorious believers standing on the sea of glass, having the harps of God (verse 2). After that came the picture of seven angels with seven plagues and four beasts handling vials full of the wrath of God to them. These continued to afflict the people who rejected God’s call for salvation.

Very few people like to talk or think about judgment day. Some believe life ends at death. Others posit that a good God will not judge His people in the manner that Christians proclaim. They proffer that earth is merely a rehearsal for eternal life, and none would be exempted. All these are opposed to what the Bible says.

The day of judgment is fast approaching. You can be ready for judgment day today by repenting of your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
How prepared are you for His judgment?

TREM Devotional – It Is Already Done

Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 26 March 2024 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – It Is Already Done

TOPIC: It Is Already Done (TREM Devotional 26 March 2024)

“And when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity” Luke 13:12 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

During the earthly ministry of Jesus, one day, He went into the temple and saw a woman who had been bowed over for 18 years. In other words, she was coming to church, yet nothing, no healing, and no deliverance because no one told her that she could be straightened. Religion says you can’t help yourself and this is how you must remain. Child of God, yes you cannot help yourself, but that does not mean you must remain like that. Jesus has paid the price for you; you no longer have to remain in the same situation.

This woman was bound for eighteen years! And here comes Jesus, who knows how to give dignity to man. He said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thy infirmity. He didn’t say, “you will be loosed”. In other words, woman, by covenant, you are loosed! But because you don’t know it, that is why you are still bowing.

You will be shocked to know how many people in the church are still bowed down by poverty, hardship, disappointment, fear, intimidation, sickness, and disease. Challenges in their lives bow over them because they don’t know that those things were already paid for by Christ.

Today, I have come to declare that you are loosed from your infirmity. No matter what it is that has bowed you down, you are loosed. Just like the devil cannot stand before Christ, that mountain cannot stand before you. Who art thou o mountain that stands before Zerubbabel? It shall come down by the shout of grace, grace! Not by might, not by power but by the Spirit of the Lord.

Your breakthrough is already done. It is already settled. The woman was not loosed before then because she did not know. Ignorance is bad. God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Choose not to be ignorant of what Jesus has done for you.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Danger Of Alcohol And Drugs

Pastor Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 26 March 2024 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Danger Of Alcohol And Drugs

TOPIC: The Danger Of Alcohol And Drugs (Seeds Of Destiny 26 March 2024)

SCRIPTURE: Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Proverbs 23:29-30.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Alcohol destroys one’s body system on earth and ultimately leads one to eternity in hell.

MESSAGE:

It has been established that one example of evil money are proceeds from the sale of alcohol, tobacco, dangerous drugs and other harmful substances. The consumption of these substances leads to the destruction of the lives and destinies of people.

When a person markets or sells products like Cocaine, Heroin, LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide – a synthetic crystalline compound which is a powerful hallucinogenic drug), Indian hemp or Marijuana, Gin, Lager Beer, etc., that destroy people’s lives, the proceeds from the sale of such products is evil money.

You see, a major destroyer of the liver is alcohol. Alcoholic liver cirrhosis leads to Primary Liver Cell Cancer. When alcohol is taken in low doses, it excites the central nervous system, but high doses of it depress the central nervous system.

The major cause of Bronchogenic Carcinoma or the cancer of the lungs is tobacco smoking. When a person is making money out of destroying people’s lives, that money is evil money. When a person sells cocaine, heroin or other kinds of harmful substances and gets money as proceeds of these iniquitous products, such money is evil money. Alcohol destroys one’s body system on earth and ultimately leads one to eternity in hell.

So, the one who sells it to people destroys their lives here on earth and assists them into eternal damnation in hellfire. Nothing can be more evil than that.

Beloved, do not partake in or sponsor anything that would destroy people’s lives on earth and ultimately take them to eternal damnation in hell.

REMEMBER THIS: Alcohol destroys one’s body system on earth and ultimately leads one to eternity in hell.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind not to take or market alcohol, prohibited drugs and other harmful substances.
  2. Refuse to facilitate the destruction of others.
  3. Ask God for the grace to be an example of godliness to others.

PRAYER: Lord, help me not to be a stumbling block to the lives of people through my practices. I receive the grace to avoid any form of illegal practice, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE TRAGEDY OF EVIL MONEY.

QUOTE: When you are battling with some issues in your spiritual life, or you are struggling with an area of weakness, you can confide in your accountability partner for prayer support. Culled from the book, “WHO ARE YOU?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: 1 Chronicles 9-11.

AMAZING FACT: Elephants can give birth until they’re 50 and an Elephant’s life expectancy is 60- 70 years old. The oldest on record – an Asian Elephant named Lin Wang – died at the ripe old age of 86.

DCLM Daily Manna – Uniqueness Of The Blood

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 26 March 2024 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Uniqueness Of The Blood

TOPIC: Uniqueness Of The Blood (DCLM Daily Manna 26 March 2024)

KEY VERSE: “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22).

TEXT: Hebrews 9:11-23 (KJV)

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

MESSAGE:

The story of John Wesley sheds some light on the hidden and not-so-hidden meaning and power in the blood of Jesus. Returning home from church service during the night, the famed evangelist got mugged by a bandit who made away with his meagre money and a couple of literature. “Stop!” Wesley pleaded with the bandit. “I have something more to give you”, he said. As the runaway thief paused, Wesley fired the final salvo. “My friend,” said Wesley, “you may live to regret this life. If you ever do, here’s something to remember: ‘The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin!” With that, the incredulously unimpressed thief disappeared into the night even as Wesley prayed that God would interrupt his life and save him. Many years later, the confirmation of heaven’s answer to that powerful prayer showed up to greet Wesley after a Sunday service, revealing that the visitor, now a successful businessman, was the bandit that robbed the man of God.

How else can we appreciate the very profound power of that unique blood if not by what this passage conveys very clearly and powerfully? Unlike the animals used for Old Testament sacrifices, Christ’s blood was offered once for sin. The power in His blood saves not just one sinner, but all sinners who believe in Him and look up to Him for salvation. Christ, our High Priest, is the Mediator between God and man; and He lives forever.

His shed blood remains the only solution and propitiation for a sin-ravaged life. He died on the cross at Calvary to demonstrate God’s love for lost humanity. The blood of Jesus is still efficacious and powerful to save all sinners who believe in Him today. Besides, the blood of Christ provides and delivers additional spiritual and physical blessings for His faithful followers.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The blood of Jesus is the only solution and propitiation for sin.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Tragedy Of The Jonah Association

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 25 March 2024 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Tragedy Of The Jonah Association

TOPIC: The Tragedy Of The Jonah Association (Seeds Of Destiny 25 March 2024)

SCRIPTURE: Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep. Jonah 1:5.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is not only enough not to be a “Jonah;” it is dangerous to hang around a “Jonah” because you may suffer losses with him.

MESSAGE:

The Bible reveals that when God sent Jonah to Nineveh, Jonah decided to go to Tarshish, and he almost lost his life. Everything in the ship was lost. God sent him to Nineveh, but he decided to go to Joppa, found a ship going to Tarshish, and paid the fare.

Beloved, it is important to know that whenever you go where God is not sending you, you pay for it. When you take a journey of life and destiny that God has not sent you, you pay for it.

Even those on the same ship with Jonah lost their properties because Jonah was with them. Because Jonah was inside the ship, they had to empty the ship, by throwing everything overboard, and casting them into the water.

You see, it is not enough not to be a “Jonah”; it is dangerous to hang around a “Jonah” because you may suffer losses with him. Were it not for God, Jonah would have perished in the sea.

They threw Jonah out into the sea, but God in His mercy prepared a fish that swallowed him up. Jonah became a victim when he decided to go in the direction that God did not send him. But he became a champion when he arrived at the place of his assignment. From the King of Nineveh to the animals in the land, everyone heeded the message of Jonah.

Beloved, this shows that you can only be tolerated when you are out of purpose. And you are celebrated when you are in the midst of purpose.

REMEMBER THIS: It is not enough not to be a “Jonah;” it is dangerous to hang around a “Jonah” because you suffer losses with him.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. By all means, avoid any Jonah association in your life.
  2. Do not go to where God has not sent you; and do not do what God has not told you to do.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You deliver me from the tragedy of Jonah. Rid me of any wrong association in my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: On your journey of character, your conviction will affect your company. Culled from the book, “Who Are You?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: 1 Chronicles 6-8.

AMAZING FACT: Elephants are herbivores and need to consume 300-400 pounds of food per day. In additions to grasses, leaves, bamboo, bark and roots, they are also known to eat crops like banana, sugarcane and – the African Elephant’s favourite – sweet amarula fruit.

DECLARATION/WORD: Receive total deliverance from every wrong association in Jesus’ Name.

Today’s devotional was written by Pastor Paul Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), headquartered at Abuja, Nigeria, with Pastor Paul and Becky Enenche, as the Senior Pastors. It is a power-packed arena where God’s Presence, Principles and Power are at work for the salvation, healing and restoration of human destinies and dignities.

DCLM Daily Manna – Divine Approval

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 25 March 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Divine Approval

TOPIC: Divine Approval (DCLM Daily Manna 25 March 2024)

KEY VERSE: “And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17).

TEXT: Matthew 3:13-17 (KJV)

13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

MESSAGE:

Jesus presented Himself to John the Baptist as a candidate for water baptism, emphasising this ritual’s necessity after genuine salvation. Despite John the Baptist’s objection, Jesus insisted on fulfilling all righteousness. It was also a way to show the world the proper way to be baptized: not by sprinkling water on the candidate, but immersion in water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. As Jesus came out of the water, a voice from heaven affirmed His divinity as the Son of God. This public divine approval was to launch Him into His earthly ministry.

Heaven gave this approval so that doubts about His ministry, origin and purpose will be settled from the beginning. Of course, doubters continue to spread lies and rumours about Christ, even at and after His death. In fact, his bodily resurrection has remained a subject of controversy in many non-Christian circles today. However, none of these has in any way been able to diminish His divinity, authority and messiahship. For those who will put their faith and confidence in Him, they will continue to enjoy unsurpassable peace and divine fellowship that will outlast this present world.

At Pentecost, Peter had the assignment to convince a doubting world of God’s divine approval of Jesus. His famous Pentecost sermon climaxed with his call to Israel to surrender to “Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know” (Acts 2:22).

You have a wonderful opportunity to come to Jesus for your salvation, sanctification and power of the Holy Ghost as well as other blessings procured through His sacrifice at Calvary.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Christ’s unique divine approval affirms His authority to bless you.
